Abstract

We will study recent problems in spin models of Statistical Mechanics, especially the continuity of spontaneous magnetization for the Ising model in dimensions d e 3, and the phase transition in planar random cluster models, with the aim to introduce the candidate to research directions in the area and prepare him for future graduate studies.
