Abstract

The objective of this project is the study of minerals formed in vesicles and amygdules of basalts of the Paraná Magmatic Province. The fieldwork will be carried out in the regions of Brotas and Araraquara, SP, for the exceptional vertical exposure of vesicular rocks at both sites. The objectives include the identification of minerals, their crystallization sequence and the temperature and fluid flow conditions during these processes, as a basis for the elaboration of a model of fluid: rock interaction in basalts of both regions.(AU)
