Abstract

The research aims to establish the relationship between curatorship in the Live Arts and decolonization, using as reference the Beatrice Von Bismarck concept of curatorial set and the discussions of Boaventura de Sousa Santos, Eduardo Viveiros de Castro, Grada Kilomba and Jota Mombaça about the Brazilian colonization process. Through the bibliographic review of curatorial and decolonial studies, as well as a case study about situations involved with decolonization in the editions of FITEI-2019, Panorama-2020 and MITsp-2016-2020, the research aims to create possible answers to the question: what are the inheritances and disruptions with the colonial past that the curatorship in Live Arts can create? This is not intended to arrive at general definitions of what could be a decolonial curatorship, but rather to understand the possible contradictions present in the approximation between these two fields. Therefore, the initial hypothesis is that there are no homogeneous situations, but cases in which decolonial aspects coexist with recolonial characteristics. (AU)
