Abstract

Realize more time of moderate/vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and less time of sedentary behavior (SB) is necessary and beneficial to patients with depression. The objective evaluation of these variables is carried out by accelerometers, used for 7 days and this collection is considered valid with at least 4 days of use. Such protocol is not performed by 30 to 60% of patients on average, and the collection must be repeated, which indicates gains if shorter protocols are accepted (1, 2 or 3 days of use). Objective: to verify the minimum number of monitoring days to safely estimate the time of MVPA and SB based on accelerometry data in patients with depression. Methods: a cross-sectional study with 100 patients diagnosed with depression at the Psychiatry outpatient clinic at the University of Santo Amaro, who will be evaluated for the time of AFMV and SB using a triaxial ActiGraph® accelerometer (GT9-X ActiGraph®, Pensacola, Florida, USA). After collection, analyzes will be made comparing: 1 day; 2 days; 3 days - the condition 4 days or more (minimum of three days a week and a weekend day). Expected results: at the end of the proposal, preliminary results are presented with 10 patients. The complementation of these data with more than 90 patients may elucidate and collaborate so that health professionals have greater security in the time measures of MVPA and SB of this population in collections that demand fewer days of use of the equipment by the same patient, which can collaborate for the care for more patients and lower cost of research regarding spending on accelerometers.
