Abstract

The Elderly Health Booklet (EHB) is an instrument for evaluating and monitoring the health of the elderly to assist the health team in building the care plan, detecting the vulnerability of this population, in addition to being a management tool in the area of health. EHB is still little used for decision making by managers and teams. For healthy aging, the monitoring of health conditions is essential, it is important to know if future health professionals will know how to fill out and use the EHB for decision-making during undergraduate training. Therefore, this study aims to verify the knowledge of the Elderly Health Booklet by undergraduate students of courses in the area of health in Brazil. This is an experimental, cross-sectional study with a descriptive quantitative approach. Undergraduate students in the area of health from different courses will be selected and will answer a questionnaire consisting of 23 (twenty-three) essay questions and multiple choice, sent by e-mail to the academic leagues of elderly health and to the coordinators of the courses. The questions aim to understand knowledge about EHB, experiences during the undergraduate course with EHB, as well as practices in Primary Health Care (PHC). Students will be divided into two groups, namely: elderly health binders (L) and non-binders (NL). It is expected that undergraduate students in the health area have already had contact with the Elderly Health Booklet, and that they use it in their practices in PHC. At the end, interested parties will be provided with training materials and encouragement to use the EHB to monitor the health of the elderly.(AU)
