Abstract

Biological invasions is one of the most serious threats to ecosystems, affecting biodiversity, ecosystem services, and the economy. The Vassununga State Park and the Santa Maria Ecological Station, in São Paulo, are suffering serious impacts due to the massive presence of invasive exotic species, which threaten the native fauna and flora and degrade the environment. Management actions are necessary and often misunderstood by the local population, as in the case of prescribed fires and the slaughter of invading animals, which can lead to conflicts. Thus, the objective of this project is the development of an educational game that provides a simple and didactic way to build knowledge with the population living around the parks about the impacts of biological invasion, and how to contribute to this problem.
