Abstract

A system of ordinary differential equations is proposed to model the dynamics of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, a vector of several diseases such as dengue. The model considers eggs in a period of quiescence and competition between wild populations and populations infected by the Wolbachia bacteria. We will study, analytically and numerically, the contribution of eggs in quiescence infected by Wolbachia, in vector control scopes. (AU)
