Abstract

The increase in PRC2/EZH2 Polycom complex activity in aggressive cancer induces gene silencing through histone modifications and chromatin accessibility. However, the mechanism underlying the targeting of PRC2/EZH2 to specific regions of the genome is under investigation. In this context, long noncoding RNAs emerge as potential mediators as they can recruit and Interact with PRC2/EZH2. Classically, it is known that this interaction occurs in the X chromossome inactivation via lncRNA XIST, for example. Despite the description of lncRNA deregulation in different types of thyroid cancer, its interaction with PRC2/EZH2 is still elusive. In this project, we aim to investigate the interaction of lncRNAs with the PRC2/EZH2 complex and its effects in aggressive thyroid cancer using anaplastic thyroid cancer cell line and RNA immunoprecipitation. We expect to identify new lncRNA that Interacts with PRC2/EZH2 and contributes to thyroid cancer oncogenesis.(AU)
