Abstract

Our research aims to propose a cross-reading between the thoughts of Jacques Derrida and Jacques Rancière based on a common element: the idea of "spectre". Thus, we intend to investigate and analyze the concepts of "spectre" and "spectrality" in Derrida's writings, bringing them closer to the ideas of "suspensive existence" and "nonexistent existences" in Rancière, which are at the core of his research on aesthetics and politics. Although both authors have distinct philosophical projects, both Deridian deconstruction and Rancièrian egalitarian philosophy propose to "think the ghost" or "think with the spectres", defending the idea of a minimal and paradoxical existence, a becoming-body that disturbs all the logic of property.
