Abstract The new informational supports and the development of the Web environment affected scientific communication. The increase in the number of resources and the problems of recovery existing in the context of the Web make it difficult for researchers to locate, retrieve and select the resources of interest. Linked Data is a set of principles proposed to allow the publication of structured and connected data on the Web. These principles can be adopted to optimize the representation and retrieval of scientific information, however the heterogeneity of the Web makes the data published in Linked Data have different levels of quality, and it is necessary to identify ways to select data sources that meet the needs of the scientific community. In this sense, the question is: How to select Linked Data datasets that can improve the process of publishing data related to scientific communication? It starts from the hypothesis that the notion of data quality in the context of scientific communication has its particularities, and that these particularities interfere in the data source selection process. The project aims to discuss the selection process of Linked Data dataset sources, which can be applied in the stage of semantic enrichment and semantic enrichment of scientific communication data, more specifically during the task of linking with other datasets, taking into account the issues related to data quality. It is proposed to carry out a Systematic Literature Review, a documentary survey and to conduct an empirical study of the datasets that publish data related to scientific communication. As a result, it is expected to build a flow for the selection of Linked Data dataset sources for the semantic enrichment of scientific communication data. | |
