Abstract

The development of catalytic materials to be used as cathodes in order to lower the overpotential for hydrogen production is a very relevant point in this theme. Phosphide-based HDR catalysts such as CoP and NiP have been studied separately on conventional substrates. It is worth noting that these catalysts have shown high catalytic activity for RDH and exhibit good stability under continuous operating conditions in electrolysis. As these materials have shown promise, are easily synthesized, abundant, and inexpensive, CoP and NiP catalysts will be developed to be used in HDR during this project. (AU)
