Abstract

The master's research project is part of the theme of cultural heritage, landscape and the use of digital media, this being a research area of the group NOMADS.USP, IAU USP, coordinated by the supervisor Associate Prof. Dr. Anja Pratschke. According to Unesco (1994), a heritage route is a category of cultural landscape, the meaning of which comes from exchanges and multidimensional dialogue between countries or regions. Therefore, the general goal of the research is to study prospecting and information modelling of cultural routes, in their natural, material and immaterial dimensions, mediated by digital resources. Two routes are selected as case studies: the Santiago de Compostela path, as a model, and the Caminho da Fé, as an exploratory field. Initially, a research will resort to a theoretical deepening through bibliographic review and consultation of primary and secondary sources. Then, when it comes to data prospecting, a social cartography based on Vásquez, Crampton and Gorayeb will be used, understood as a procedure for building knowledge of the landscape in a participatory and collaborative way. With the information collected, it is intended to do the modeling through digital platforms, based on the theoretical precepts of Heritage Landscape Information Modeling (HLIM) according to Yang et. al, to enable an understanding of the territory through the relational understanding of its multiple multiples. As a result, a proposal for reading keys on cultural routes that could assist in public practices and policies is spread. (AU)
