Abstract

At the end of 2019, in China, the first case of respiratory infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus occurred, later named the disease COVID-19, which quickly spread to numerous countries, causing a pandemic. At first, it was believed that the disease affected only the respiratory system, but with the evolution of the cases and also, the mutations of the viruses showed other systems, such as neurological, integumentary, cardiovascular, etc. and among them, the digestive system, having a prominence due to the presence of ACE2 (Angiotensin 2 converting enzymes) in the colon, as this is one of the main targets of the virus when it enters the human body. The objective of this study is to identify the occurrence of late manifestations in the digestive system of patients previously hospitalized due to a severe manifestation of COVID-19, in addition to specifically evaluating the gastrointestinal repercussions, identifying the time intervals and the evolution of these possible manifestations and evidencing the use and need for treatment for them. Such conclusions will be obtained through a questionnaire applied to patients hospitalized for COVID-19 at the Hospital de Amor Nossa Senhora (HANS), in which the selection of patients will be carried out from the identification through a database obtained from the registration files. from that hospital. The study population will be contacted by telematics using the EasyDoctorsR teleassistance platform. After the guidance and with consent, the target individuals of the study will be submitted to a standard questionnaire, designed to identify the sequelae of the viral disease in general and specifically to identify possible digestive manifestations, their evolution, and repercussions.(AU)
