Abstract

Spirituality is a broad concept, whose definition encompasses conceptual components related to connections with oneself, with others, with nature, and with the transcendental. It refers to a resource that can bring balance to emotions that also emerge during the experience of suffering resulting from suicidal behavior in children and adolescents. Objective: explore the experience of spirituality for children and adolescents with suicidal behavior. Method: descriptive qualitative research, to be carried out at the outpatient Conversas de Vida (Center for the Promotion of Hope and Suicide Prevention) and the Comprehensive Development of Children and Adolescents (DICA), with children and adolescents with suicidal behavior, aged between seven and incomplete eighteen years. Data will be collected after a favorable opinion from the Ethics and Research Committee, through photo-elicitation and open, audio-recorded interviews, and submitted to the thematic analysis technique. Expected results. Knowledge about spirituality in children and adolescents with suicidal behavior can equip health professionals to assess this sphere of the human dimension, expanding the possibilities of intervention beyond the biological sphere of mental suffering, constituting the potential to bring meaning to life. life and to face the day-to-day adversities in its trajectory, through a scientific basis.
