Abstract

The general objective of the present study is to comprehend the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on users of a Social Assistence Reference Center (CRAS). As specific objective, investigate the emocional aspects presented by pregnant women regarding motherhood in this context. Refuting the conception of the pandemic as a democratic phenomenon, which affects everyone in similar ways, the selection criteria of the participants includes, in addition to pregnancy, the condition of psychosocial vulnerability. Semi-structured interviews will be carried out with three pregnant women attended by CRAS in a medium-sized city in the interior of São Paulo: a pregnant woman expecting her first child, a pregnant woman who already has children, born before the pandemic, and a pregnant woman who does not have the presence of the babys father or the help of family members, acting as the head of family. The analysis of the participants reports will be based on the Meaning Nuclei, qualitative methodology that aims to apprehend, based on the analysis categories of Socio-Historical Psychology, the meanings and senses evidenced by the interviewees.(AU)
