Abstract

This research proposal deals with the existing relations between Lacan and Althusser and it will be supervise by Prof. Pascale Gillot at the Université de Tours. The object of the research is restricted to the analysis of three categories assimilated by Louis Althusser from Jacques Lacan (Name of the Father, Recognition-Disclosure, and Dual Specular Relationship). The research seeks to understand how these categories were assimilated by Althusser, whether they were transformed, and if so, to what extent. The preliminary hypothesis is that the study of these categories, based on a return to Lacan, contributes to a better understanding of the Althusserian theory on ideology and the constitution of the subject. Finally, it should be emphasized that the present proposal for the Research Fellowship Abroad (BEPE) consists of a crucial part of the Master's research being carried out in Brazil, entitled "Lacan's presence in Althusser: elements for a critique of the legal form" (No. 2021/03887-2).
