Abstract The purpose of investigating the relation between spirit and body allows us to problematize the question of personality in Bergson. By taking into account these two domains of human experience, Bergson places the theme of personality as central, raising this notion to an important level in his philosophy. This philosophy grounds a totally original psychological theory, which proposes to account for the complex relationship between spirit and body, considering the reality of both. Our hypothesis is that the notion of personality gains a new approach from the ponderings on body and spirit, on what unites and separates them. We believe that Bergson's psychological theory, which does not fail to embrace personality disorders, is a fundamental step to clarify this notion. (AU) | |
