Abstract

Strongly correlated systems are in the spotlight of condensed matter physics in the last decade. The main reason for that is the increasing interest in non-trivial topological materials and its related properties. Probing transport and magnetic properties in topological states of matter are key to experimentally understand intricate physical phenomena in such systems. In this work we focus in prototypical topological materials MoTe2 and EuB6, the former presents superconductivity and Weyl semimetal behavior but the link between these two phenomena is still matter of debate. The latter presents metal-semimetal transition, magnetic polarons, exotic magnetic properties and has been recently proposed as a Weyl semimetal. The use of hydrostatic and uniaxial pressure in these compounds may provide valuable insight in how system symmetries protect or affect transport phenomena related to Berry surface arising from sources and sinks along Weyl Points. Therefore, transport studies under extreme conditions using diamond anvil and strain cells are in the frontiers of knowledge regarding topological materials and condensed matter physics. (AU)
