Abstract

In this scientific initiation project we will study how to model the neutrino decoupling process in the Primordial Universe in the context of Standard Model interactions. including the role of all relevant physics to adequately describe the process: collision terms, neutrino oscillation and QFT corrections of finite temperature. The student should understand the derivation of the evolution equations which model the process in the context of an approximate approach and implement it in a numerical program. Our goal is that, at the end of this project, the student is prepared to study the effects of Physics Beyond the Standard Model in this decoupling process, being able to start a graduate course in the area.
