Abstract

Observing the advancement of relationship apps as a flirting strategy and establishment of social bonds in the contemporary world, together with the emergence of new effective arrangements, this project focuses on the study of polyamory, from its adherents and their beliefs. , via the Pitanga Club relationship application, aimed at this audience. The literature on polyamory maintains that the polyaffective practice brings, at its core, the flexibility and expansion of the categories of gender and sexuality, since polyamory is based on the aegis of freedom and equality between the affective partners, in opposition to the ideals of romantic love. However, based on the theoretical and methodological framework of Pierre Bourdieu's Relational Sociology and on exploratory research, we argue that polyamory continues to replicate fixed gender categories and the idealization of romance, typical of romantic love. In this sense, we intend to objectify the beliefs about love disseminated by the supporters of polyamory users of Pitanga Club, as well as to know the profile of the user of the application. To this end, we will use the analytical tools provided by the socioanalysis of Pierre Bourdieu.(AU)
