Abstract

The presence of religion in the ministerial and administrative structure of the Brazilian Government, inscribed by conservative sectors of various confessions, has been considered by contemporary academic literature as a movement of formation of a religious Right in Brazil, whose political action is marked by participation in the formulation of legislative norms and public policies. That said, this research project aims to observe the relationship between Religion and Politics in the instance of the Executive Branch regarding the federal financing of Therapeutic Communities via public call notices prepared by the Ministry of Citizenship of the Bolsonaro government. Based on a qualitative methodology, we propose to analyze these notices and the entities authorized by them, as well as to map and describe the ministry cited, institutions connected to it, actors, agendas, and interests mobilizing these public policies, through an ethnography of documents and digital ethnography, respectively. In this sense, our initial hypotheses are that (I) it is in the Bolsonaro government that the transfer of public resources to Therapeutic Communities is intensified, whose religious profile is already known, and that (II) this situation is related to the potentiation of a religious Right in Brazil.(AU)
