Abstract

This research aims to analyze the concept of administered world (Verwaltete Welt) in Theodor Adorno's philosophy. Its main objective is to comprehend the idea of administration behind the concept as it is mentioned in some of the philosopher's main works, along with the connection made by him between the first concept and the cultural industry, which is seen as the support for an administration that suppresses individual beings. The research's main hypothesis revolves around Adorno's concept of administered world as being a concept that involves Weber's idea of bureaucracy - on one side - and is also built upon Adorno's own concept of culture industry, which was developed in many ways since the first publication of Dialectic of Enlightenment.
