Abstract

The following research aims to investigate the relations between femininity, violence, and homeless women. To make those connections, it will be made literature research searching for the connections between the topics covered and an autobiographical narrative in which a homeless woman, reached with the help of a Consultório a Rua (CnR) team, will be asked to tell her story, and, with this, show, by the means of a concrete case, the relations between the studied topics. It is important to reflect upon the relationship between femininity, violence, and homeless woman, that a woman's place in society and de construct of their femininity are pierced by visions, expectations, and relations where violence is a present aspect. Concomitant to that, homeless women are surpassed by violence in much more constant forms since they are in conditions of extreme vulnerability and poverty. In addition to these issues, another significant matter is the understanding of the importance and competence of the Consultório la Rua to encompass the diversity and needs of women in these conditions, it is necessary to highlight the absence of direction in the ordinance that establishes the action of the CnR when it comes to the proceedings involving women and their issues, therefore, it is indispensable to understand the performance of the team in the day to day contact with this population.
