Abstract

Introduction: The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has imposed important changes in habits and behaviors on all people. Non-pharmacological measures to prevent the disease, especially social distancing, have caused a decrease in leisure activities, interpersonal contact and negatively impacted affective relationships. In this scenario, risk factors for self-inflicted violence and suicide attempt may arise or be aggravated. One of the important mechanisms for the control of these diseases is compulsory notification, a tool that allows not only the individual follow-up of each case, but also the implementation of health policies according to territorial and epidemiological demands. Objective: To analyze the sociodemographic profile of victims of self-inflicted violence in the first 12 months of the SARS-COV-2 pandemic in São Paulo, SP. Methods: This is a cross-sectional research carried out through compulsory notifications carried out by health units in São Paulo, capital and made available electronically in the DATASUS TABNET system, with public and unrestricted access. The period outlined is the reports of violence that occurred between March 2020 and February 2021, comprising the first 12 months of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Reports of suspected or confirmed cases of self-harm and attempted suicide will be included. Notifications of cases of interpersonal violence and cases described as 'ignored' for the period of occurrence will be excluded. The analysis will be performed using univariate statistics and software Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), version 21.0, and R, version 4.0.2.Keywords: Violence. Suicide. Health Surveillance. COVID-19.
