Abstract

The well-being and functionality of the upper limb is important for carrying outdaily activities, work or leisure. Thus, complaints and loss of functions representa huge risk to the autonomy and health of workers, affected mainly byMusculoskeletal Disorders Related to Work. The objective of this study is to analyze the correlation between upper limb fatigue, handgrip strength and work capacityin workers of a university hospital with complaints and symptoms in the neck andupper limbs. It is a cross-sectional observational study. The sample will becomposed of at least 50 workers from the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty ofMedicine of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (HCFMRP - USP).The fatigueof the upper limb will be measured using the Test-Hand and Neck/Shoulder/Arm (FIT-HaNSA), work ability will be assessed through the Work Ability Index questionnaire in addition to theNeed for Rest. It is expected to find a moderate correlation of hand grip strength with ability to work, need for rest, and upper limb fatigue.
