Abstract

Faced with the need to improve the effectiveness of polymerization in root canals, studies have been developed to solve this obstacle that directly influences the failureof many restorations. So in view of this aspect, the objective of this study is toevaluate the light curing index inside the root canal with the use of custom printedintraradicular pins with composite resin through an optical fiber that will light-curinginside the root canal with the use of custom printed intraradicular pins with compositeresin and cemented by a dual cement through an optical fiber that will light-curinginside the pin. For this, thirty-six bovine teeth were used, submitted to the usualendodontic treatment, divided into 3 groups (n=12): Photo - photopolymerizedprinted pin in a conventional way (control); Fiber - photopolymerized printed pin withoptical fiber; FIBER + PHOTO - photopolymerized printed pin in a conventional wayand with optical fiber. The teeth were prepared for insertion of the intraradicularcylindrical pin with a height of 16 mm and a regular diameter of 1,3 mm, withprogressive conicity. The conduit internal to the printed pin will allow the insertion ofthe optical fiber along the entire length of the pin in order to enable the action of lightalong the entire length of the root canal, mainly aiming at its performance in theapical portion. Then an analysis of the resistance of the pin will be performedthrough the push out technique, in which the specimens will be sectionedperpendicularly to obtain slices approximately 2 mm thick, the analysis will beperformed in the cervical, middle and apical thirds. For data analysis, ANOVA afactor and Tukey's test will be used.
