Abstract

The main objective of the "Collaborative Design of Environmental Policies for the State of São Paulo" project, part of the Biota Synthesis Center, is to coordinate project teams, both academic, public managers and civil society, along the co-production and knowledge systematization processes focused on innovative and efficient environmental public policy design for the State of São Paulo. In this context, the present postdoctoral fellow will carry out both research activities and activities related to the implementation of the co-production process, such as articulation of actors and moderation of meetings. With regard to scientific research, studies will be carried out concerning: i) co-production, ii) design, redesign, implementation and evaluation of public policies and iii) also in collaboration with other Biota Synthesis groups. As for the co-production, the postdoc will guide and lead the iteration between project teams, and will develop two scientific studies. The first one will be a scientific literature review on the subject and the second will aim at describing the São Paulo experience by the end of two years of coproduction. As for the design of public policies, collaboration possibilities are numerous in the Biota Synthesis. In this case, at least two studies will be developed within this post-doctoral project: the first related to governance of environmental policies and the second concerning the improvement of the design of Payments for Environmental Services programs in the state. The interaction among researchers and the collaboration within the Biota Síntese Center will expand the scientific production of the entire group and will create synergies also as regard to the production of public policies for the State of São Paulo.
