Abstract

In recent years, the strict vegetarian population has grown in Brazil and worldwide. To meet the specific demands of this population, the market for food products and consumer goods is expanding. In the scientific community, interest in the topic has also increased. For this, it is extremely important to develop analytical population instruments that consider the particularities of the strict vegetarian population. Therefore, the objective of this project is to develop a Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (QFFQ) directed to this population, since until the present moment, there is no national FFQ aimed at this public, as vegetarian diets are equipped with their own and unconventional foods. The project consists of remotely obtaining 24-hour Dietary Recalls from brazilian strict vegetarian adults, to organize foods and portions, to prepare a food list, to define portion sizes, to determine consumption frequency and, finally, to define the final structure of the QFFQ.
