Abstract

This research, in a comparative perspective, aims mainly to collate the poems written by Ceara's poet Juvenal Galeno, that can be found in the 1865's collection Lendas e Canções Populares, with the poetical texts written by Patativa do Assaré, and published in the 1956's collection Inspiração Nordestina, to set out their points of confluence and divergence on the portrayal of the backlands of Brazilian northeast's social world.
