Abstract

Reflecting on new alternative learning methods as well as their strategies for use with students means a concern to promote social inclusion. In recent years, authors have revealed the lack of research that includes students with visual impairment and the use of practical activities in teaching science to this group. In social spaces, language is still governed by Western culture in which visual perception prevails, generating exclusion as mediations in these environments are often inaccessible for people with limited vision. Therefore, the implementation of alternatives for the development and learning of the visually impaired seeks to support inclusive education, which acts as an excellent tool to meet the demand of people and their peculiarities. The experience of educating to include requires the production of adapted material, ensuring visibility and welcoming to minorities, thus seeking equality and equity in education. Given the above, the objective of this project is the development of five different models using 3D printing technology and adapted to sensory stimuli, thus seeking to assist in the pedagogical process of zoology education with a focus on venomous and non-venomous snakes. These kits will offer an equal learning opportunity thus allowing the inclusion of those with special educational needs. Furthermore, based on the results obtained, demonstrate the need for research on social inclusion and the production of adapted teaching materials, in order to value and welcome those who face certain challenges in society.
