Abstract

Systemic infections associated with Candida sp, especially Candida auris, which is highly resistant to the main drugs available to the population, is a serious public health problem worldwide, especially in nosocomial environments. Authorities around the world remain alert to the rapid progression of disease states attributed to this species, due to the city of drug approaches available for treatment. Therefore, the search for new approaches to therapies in the control of this microorganism is relevant. Metal complexes, especially silver (Ag(I)) have been widely studied for their antimicrobial activity, which is scientifically demonstrated for different classes of microorganisms. The main objective of this work is to determine the antifungal activity potential of Ag(I) coordination compounds by in vitro assays (determination of the minimum inhibitory concentration - MIC with planktonic cells and the action in biofilm) and in vivo assay using an alternative model of Galleria mellonella (toxicity and infection).
