Abstract

Introduction: Teenage pregnancy affects more than 16 million girls annually, with pregnancy complications being the leading cause of death in this age group worldwide. This higher mortality occurs because, among other factors, adolescents have more complications in pregnancy, which results in worse maternal and neonatal outcomes. In addition, there is evidence that this problem mainly affects adolescents from poorer countries, due to the higher prevalence of risk factors in them, being very relevant at the public health level in Brazil, even with the reduction in the fertility rate of adolescents in the last 20 years caused, in large part, by the implementation of public policies for this purposeJustification: It is important to evaluate how assistance has been offered to pregnant adolescents in order to understand whether it meets the population's needs.Objectives: to evaluate and compare changes in neonatal and maternal outcomes in the last 30 years of adolescents and non-adolescents at Hospital Prof. Dr. José Aristodemo Pinotti (CAISM).Methods: A historical cohort will be carried out with data from pregnant women who gave birth at CAISM from January 1986 to December 2015. Outcome variables and independent variables will be studied, being analyzed in 3 different periods and compared between pregnant adolescents and non-adolescents . The data will be provided by CAISM and later the statistical analysis will be performed, adopting a significance level of 5%.
