Abstract

This research, which seeks to discuss language policy (ORLANDI, 1998, 2002, 2007a; SOUZA, T. C. C., 2017, 2021; ROSA and SOUZA, 2019), is based on the theoretical-methodological device of Discourse Analysis (ORLANDI, 2007b) and also establishes a relationship with an enunciative semantics (GUIMARÃES, 2002), in the sense of understanding the politics of languages considering that there is an enunciation space that manages the division and distribution of languages and speakers. The concept of politics as conflict (ORLANDI, 1990) will be fundamental for the development of the analyses. From the analytical procedure of the beat between paraphrase and polysemy, we will produce gestures of interpretation of the discursive clippings that we take as a theoretical object. We aim to analyze how the co-officialization of indigenous languages takes place (in practice) in the Brazilian municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira, in Amazonas. To do so, we will conduct interviews with elderly indigenous people, speakers of Tuyuka, to analyze their perception of the relationship between languages considering the linguistic policy of the co-officialization of three indigenous languages in São Gabriel da Cachoeira/AM. With this survey and analysis, we intend to discuss the effects of co-officialization of languages.
