Abstract

The recent data release of the Gaia space mission has allowed the discovery of young stellar groups in the Solar neighbourhood that have not yet been explored. This project aims to investigate these groups in more detail based on the astrometric, photometric and spectroscopic data delivered by the large-scale astronomical surveys of the sky. The student will compile the lists of known members for each group published in the literature, search for additional members and characterise their collective properties in terms of distance, spatial distribution, kinematics and age. The results obtained in this project (and the close proximity of these young stellar groups) have the potential to turn them into important targets for benchmark studies in the fields of star formation and exoplanets.
