Abstract Pregnancy and the puerperium represent a major change in a woman's life, a phase that requires adaptations and a consequent constant search for information (Michaels and Goldberg, 1988). Research indicates that this demand for knowledge is hardly met by the healthcare system, leading these patients to an accessible and easy alternative: the internet (Kraschnewski et al, 2019). Currently, the world is going through the time called Big Data, in which communication technologies are at the highest point of data production and sharing (Xavier, 2020), including Brazil, which has more than 80% of its population with access to this data technology (IBGE, 2019). However, there are no recent studies that relate how this new wave of data and the need for health information in obstetrics meet, and such a survey has never been carried out in Brazil before. Therefore, this study aims to explore the content available in the online format for Brazilian pregnant and postpartum women, through a cross-sectional study applied in the most used social media in the country. The methodology is based on a survey of publications from the most used social networks in Brazil: Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, Facebook, TikTok, based on selected keywords with the support tool Google Trends (2022), followed by their analysis and responses from the audience to the content. Posts will be analyzed based on the parameters offered by each social media, in addition to who produced them, purpose and resources used, so that authors can categorize the material as positive, negative or neutral and reliability with scientific works. | |
