Abstract

With the research proposed in this project we intend to continue with the searches carried out, in Brazil and Spain, during undergraduate and master's degrees. The objective is to understand the position of financial credit establishments (known as "financieras") in the division of financial labor in Spain, considering their spatial logic in the territory and their role in the supply of consumer credit, with potential repercussions on household indebtedness. Thus, we will seek to analyze the insertion of these agents in the Spanish financial system, considering their command centers in the territory and the capillarity of their service network, as well as the consumer credit products they offer and the weight of these financial products in the processes of indebtedness of families in Spain. Therefore, the research will try to broaden the horizons of primary research, especially from the construction of comparative analyzes on the participation of the well-known "financiers" in the Spanish and Brazilian financial systems - taking into account their specificities -, their spatial logics in the territories, as well as their participation in the supply of consumer credit with the potential to increase the indebtedness of families in the two countries, especially in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
