Abstract

In my previous research entitled "Os temas sociais da nova narrativa negra espanhola: uma análise de Diez Negritos", oriented by Dr. Maira Angélica Pandolfi, I observed how female characters were represented in Spanish "negrocriminal" stories, who were almost never the real protagonists and appeared in all cases in a typified way as the "fatal mujer" in her "Eva" archetype or as innocent/victim, reinforcing patriarchy in literature and reaffirming stereotypes. Therefore, the current research project aims to analyze and reflect the way in which social violence against women is addressed in the anthology Fundido en negro: antología del mejor calibre criminal femenino organized by Inmaculada Pertusa Seva (2014), a work that contains tales of the Spanish genre "negro-criminal" written in its entirety by women and brings in its summary names of renowned and pioneering authors such as: Cristina Fallarás, Rosa Ribas, Susana Hernández, Alicia Giménez Barlett, Maria Antònia Oliver, Isabel Franc, Berna González Harbour, Clara Asunción García and Carolina Solé. Besides, it will be analyzed how the authors make this criticism to the patriarchal society, focusing on a thematic approach about the social violence faced by the female characters, being them officers, investigators in the public area or private detectives, as well as the other female characters involved in crimes or situations arising from social injustices, a present trait in the Spanish "negrocriminal".
