Abstract

The draft presented intends to develop a discussion and criticize the boundaries and tensions of "feminicide" as a explanatory political category of gender motivation murders practised against transsexual women. Furthermore, it intends to analyse if this category is enough to the complexity of this specific violence which targets transsexual women. It also intends to examine the possibility to introduce the(transsexual)feminicide category in criminal law as well as if and how the category has been enforced in Brazilian Criminal Trials. Therefore, it suggests a qualititative analysis based at the ethnography of homicide/feminicide lawsuits where the victim is a transsexual women, following the case development since the police investigation until the jury trial.
