Abstract

Central serous chorioretinopathy typically has a benign behavior, with spontaneous improvement within 3 months. For chronic and recurrent cases, there are several therapeutic alternatives and, among them, the micropulsed subthreshold laser stands out with good functional and anatomical results, in addition to a satisfactory safety profile. However, the lack of standardization is still a major obstacle in the acceptance of this therapy. The aim of this study is, therefore, to compare the effectiveness of the two main micropulse laser treatment strategies, as well as to analyze their safety profile, and anatomical and functional correlations in patients with chronic central serous chorioretinopathy.
