Abstract

The issue of contamination of dyes and pigments in clean water has been gaining prominence along with the need to develop technologies capable of disposing these wastes in an environmentally friendly way. In that way, the evolution and application of metal-organic frameworks (MOF), which have been an exponent in recent years, emphasizes great efficiency in the adsorption of substances. Thus, for the production of MOFs, the principles of Green Chemistry are also used, with the reuse of PET bottles to obtain terephthalic acid, which is the necessary binder in the structure, and, therefore, contribute significantly to the recycling of materials responsible for major environmental impacts.
