Abstract

Considering that the lack of adequate support can lead to complications in the grieving process, and that there is a limited number of studies on the topic, this study aims to understand the experiences of women diagnosed with thrombophilia who have experienced pregnancy loss. Specifically, the study aims to: (1) understand the feelings and meanings associated with pregnancy loss; (2) comprehend how grief has been or is being experienced; (3) identify sources of support during the loss, if any; and (4) understand future expectations. This is a clinical-qualitative, cross-sectional, descriptive-exploratory study. The theoretical framework used will be that of disenfranchised grief. Convenience sampling will be used, with an expected sample size of seven to ten women who have experienced pregnancy loss and have been diagnosed with thrombophilia. The instruments used will be a Sociodemographic Data Form, the Brazilian Criteria of Economic Classification - BCEC, and a semi-structured interview script. Data collection will be conducted individually, either online or in person, depending on the availability of the interviewee. The interviews will be audio-recorded with the participants' consent. Data collection is estimated to take approximately one and a half hours. The interviews will be transcribed verbatim, respecting the sequence and form in which the words were presented. Subsequently, the data will be subjected to thematic reflexive analysis and discussed in light of the disenfranchised grief theory and literature in the field. The goal is to generate knowledge that sheds light on this moment of extreme suffering that is still in obscurity.
