Abstract INTRODUCTION: Hirschsprung's Disease, as a rare pathology (1/5.000 live births), has difficulties for the study and the the establishment of its complete treatment based on evidence. It was first described in the 17th century, but it has been understood only in the 20th century. This difficulty is extended and amplified in its adult form; with even rarer and underdiagnosed incidence in this age group, the best therapy to be used in these cases is not yet established. Although a sistematic review study has been done on the subject in 2010; a meta-analysis and an adequate characterization of the treatment and the associate complications have not been done. OBJECTIVES: Analyze and compare the surgical treatment proposed to the patients with the pathology in adulthood. METHODS: It's about a systematic literature review associated with a meta-analysis, with methods proposed by the Cochrane Handbook and PRISMA Statement's recommendations. EXPECTED RESULTS: Set superiority of a surgical technique based on the functional outcomes, quality of life and complications associated with the main techniques used on the presente age group.KEYWORDS: (Hirschsprung disease) OR (Doença de Hirschsprung) OR (Aganglionose colônica) OR (Aganglionic Megacolon) OR (Aganglionosis, Colonic) OR (Aganglionosis) AND (adult) OR Adultos) OR (Adulto) | |
