Abstract

Radio telescopes dedicated to measuring the HI neutral hydrogen distribution of the Universe through the 1420 MHz hyperfine transition are a great tool to measure Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) efficiently. However, contaminants of galactic and extragalactic origin are orders of magnitude larger than the cosmological HI signal, and even if the removal process is successful, residues may prevent the measurement of part of the oscillation modes (k) parallel to the line of sight . This work aims to apply the cross correlation technique of HI with optical surveys in simulated data from the BINGO radio telescope, and to develop a process of reconstruction of oscillation modes, inaccessible due to astrophysical contaminants and instrument calibration problems (in an effect known as a wedge). The main objective to be achieved with this technique is to optimize the process of determining cosmological parameters.
