Abstract

Based on the educational stratification studies theoretical framework, the main research addresses the problem of access to higher education as a problem related to the way in which the association between social origins and educational destinations is structured. This proposal is a comparative empirical analysis on educational stratification patterns - race, class, gender, etc. - observed in the selection processes for the five courses offered by FFLCH/USP (Geography, History, Social Sciences, Philosophy and Letters) between 2019 and 2023. The objective is to investigate the effects of recent public initiatives to transform the structure of association between social origins and educational destinations in access to higher education in the country, taking the University of São Paulo as a case study.
