Abstract

The costumes of the movie Sinhá Moça: reconstruction of four costumes from the originals by Sophia Jobim is a research project that aims to study, document and reconstruct four of the main character s costumes from the audiovisual work "Sinhá Moça" (1953), through original pieces of the work, which were designed by Sophia Jobim (1904-1968), present in the São Bernardo do Campo City Hall collection, currently held at the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo. The project intents to rescue the cultural memory and elaborate a historical read of the costumes designed by Jobim and dressed by Eliane Lage. The recreation of the costumes and the documentation of the processes allows their reproducibility, enabling re-articulations in artistic activities. Keywords: scene costume, patternmaking, historical reenactment, Sinhá Moça
