Abstract

The aim of this project will be to characterize the motor proficiency of students from the 1st and 2nd year of Elementary School I. 150 students from the 1st and 2nd year of Elementary School I (EFI), public and municipal, from the city of Marília-SP will participate in this study. The students will be divided into groups, GI (75 students from the 1st year of the EFI; GII (75 students from the 2nd year of the EFI). The students will be submitted to the MABC-2 motor assessment battery, individually, lasting from 30 to 50 minutes. Manual Dexterity, "Throwing and Catching" and Balance tasks will be performed. The total score of such battery is obtained from chronological age, obtaining the Standard Score, classifying the student in performance without difficulties, motor risk and a lot of difficulty. The tests applied for this analysis will be: Mann-Whitney Test, to verify and compare possible differences between groups and Spearman Correlation Analysis, to verify the degree of relationship between the variables of interest. Other tests may be used to assist in the analysis of the results of this study.
