Abstract

The project aims to continue a research on the reception of Xenophon's historiographic work in Brazil. I intend now first to research the different contexts and reasons that led some characters of Brazilian culture in the late 19th and early 20th centuries to be identified as "Brazilian Xenophons" or to be compared to the Athenian author. This identification specially takes in consideration his authorship of the Anabasis. After that, this project will conclude with the analysis of Glauber Rocha's (1939-1981) never filmed screenplay La Nascita degli Dei, which include an adaptation of the Cyropaedia. (AU)
