Abstract

The research aims to analyze the costume designers in charge in the Vera Cruz Film Company between the years 1949 and 1954. Taking into consideration the context of the São Paulo film industry in the 1950s and the company's relationship with the Brazilian Theater of Comedy, the study intends to investigate the credited costume designers in the films "Caiçara" (1950), "Tico-tico no Fubá" (1952), "Nadando em Dinheiro" (1952), "O Cangaceiro" (1953), and "Sinhá Moça" (1953). These designers include Suzana Peterson, Aldo Calvo, Zilda Vergueiro, Nilda Junqueira, Antonio Soures de Oliveira, Simone de Moura, Caribé, Jacy Silveira, Ida Fogli, and Sophia Jobim.
