Abstract

This research project has as its main objective to analyze the effect of beam steering in sparse antenna arrangements, whose elements are arranged according to Fermat's spiral. We study the behavior of antennas and their parameters, as well as the radiation diagram considering the beam steering, and the focus of this work will be the optical antennas that currently stand out due to their applications, among which can be cited the spectroscopy and optical communication. In addition, with the purpose of improving radiation properties, antenna arrangements that are composed of several identical radiation elements will be studied. Thus, in this work we will focus on sparse planar arrangements based on the Fermat spiral. And, to perform this analysis will be used some methods, such as the calculation of the array factor (AF) and the peak side lobe level (PSLL) and also the implementation in a code in Python for better graphical visualization of the results.
