Abstract

The use of absorbable biomaterials with synthetic composition, such as polydioxanone (PDO), has shown promising results when evaluating the regenerative process. A biomaterial that can be customize in physical and mechanical properties is ideal for achieve greater control of cell population during and after coagulation, thus favoring the regenerative process. Therefore, using a 3D PDO matrix may be favorable as a mucosal substitute. The aim of this study is to characterize, based on Flow Cytometry analysis, the initial cellular stages of clot formation in the 3D PDO matrix used as a mucosal substitute in vivo. The data obtained will be expressed through quantitative descriptive analysis, represented by the mean or median and standard deviation. From this, the analytical discussion of the implications of the results will be made. These results will make it possible to observe the performance of this biomaterial in the regenerative process of soft tissues.
